About public directory listings

How sourced business listings, requests to manage a listing and removal requests work on eSherehe.

Where listing information comes from

Some eSherehe directory entries are added from publicly available business sources so that organisers can discover services. Each sourced listing displays links to its sources and the date the information was checked. Descriptions summarise the available information; they do not mean that the business supplied or approved this page.

Check the sources and contact the provider directly to confirm current services, location, availability, prices and terms. Business information can change after the recorded check date. A district filter records a sourced location; it is not proof that a provider serves every place within that district or elsewhere in Tanzania.

Unclaimed and managed listings

An unclaimed public-source listing is not connected to a user account. Its presence is not an endorsement, a quality guarantee, a partnership or a claim that eSherehe verified the provider's work. A listing being managed by a member is also different from any separately recorded verification badge.

If you own or are authorised to represent the business, sign in to an active account and verify an email address or phone number. Use the listing's request-to-manage option and explain your authority. An administrator reviews the evidence before any ownership is assigned. Sending a request, knowing a business name or having a verified account does not automatically give control of a listing.

Corrections and removal

A public-source listing includes a removal-request option that can be used without an account. Give enough information for the team to identify the entry and review your connection to the business or concern. A request is reviewed; submitting one does not immediately remove the page. You may also use the private contact form to report an incorrect source or business detail.

Send contact details and supporting information only through the private request/contact forms. Do not post identity documents, passwords, payment information or another person's private details on a public listing or article. Request evidence and contact details are not published as part of the directory.

Coverage and your decisions

The directory is being developed. A category, region or district with no result is a coverage gap, not a claim that no provider exists there. Source links and a well-presented listing do not guarantee service quality or delivery. Organisers and providers should agree their own scope, price, payment and cancellation arrangements.

See Request management of a public listing for the steps. The platform's existing privacy notice and terms provide the operator's wider information.
